President's Message:

Welcome to the official website of the St. Louis Gateway Chapter of the Society of Government Meeting Professionals.  SGMP’s mission is to improve the quality and increase the cost effectiveness of government meetings through education and networking.  Whether you plan meetings, conventions, conferences, or special events, SGMP is sure to offer valuable tools and industry contacts to help make you successful in your career.

Educational programming is key to our mission at SGMP.  We offer presentations on topics ranging from how to de-stress your attendees to the proper protocol in the government sector.  We are always looking for input and suggestions from our members on what type of information would be beneficial to them in their careers.

Networking is another of our objectives, and our monthly program meetings offer an excellent opportunity for suppliers and planners to interact in a casual, semiformal atmosphere.  The contacts and friendships made through membership in SGMP can last a lifetime.

SGMP also encourages professional development.  Various certifications are promoted in the hospitality and meeting planning industry including CHSP (Certified Hospitality Sales Professional), CMP (Certified Meeting Professional), and the new CGMP (Certified Government Meeting Professional) designation.  Annual National Conferences are held offering multiple educational workshops, top-notch keynote speakers, a huge trade show, and endless opportunities to network and meet new people from across the country.

April Meeting

The St. Louis Gateway Chapter's April meeting will be “Etiquette and Government Protocol” presented by Gayle French on April 23, 2008.  The meeting will be held at the Hyatt Regency at Union Station on Market Street in downtown St. Louis, MO.  Registration and Networking is 11:00 am.  Business Meeting and Lunch at 11:30 pm. Program at 12:15 pm.
